In addition to the building designated as a nationally registered tangible cultural property, there are also many other cultural assets such as historical documents, pottery, and hanging scrolls that remain, and there are many things to see. In addition to the building designated as a registered tangible cultural property, there are many other cultural assets such as historical documents, pottery, hanging scrolls, etc. There is a long, narrow structure in the style of a traditional Kyoto townhouse, and even in summer the breeze blows comfortably through the building.

Description

Since its founding in 1796, this brewery has operated with a focus on quality despite its small size, with a production and sales volume of 400 koku (equivalent to 40,000 1.8-liter bottles). Furthermore, in 2003, the brewery made the "Junmaishu Declaration", stating that it would focus primarily on making Junmaishu, which is made from only water and rice, from that point onward. Its principal brands are "Hizen Kuragokoro" and "Takenosono". Taste-testing and purchasing of sake is possible at the brewery. The main building, middle storehouse, koji room where the fungus that ferments the rice is cultivated, west storehouse, east storehouse, the old rice mill room where the bran (the hard part near the skin) was removed, and annex are all registlated as Tangible Cultural Properties of Japan. The main building which was built in 1904, is a two-story wooden structure with a tile roof and a total area of 284 square meters. It faces the Tara Okan Road, one of the old Nagasaki Kaido Roads that connected to the sea route. The first floor has a doorway positioned a bit to the south of the tiled eaves, and bay windows on the north side. The exterior walls of the second floor are finished with white plaster, which is also fire resistant.
